The Dodjivi Dictionary
As you peruse the site and look at our products, you might see a few unique phrases and wonder what they mean. Our founder, Komlanvi Dodjro, was born in Togo, West Africa, where they speak both Ewe and French. Sometimes, some of his “Komlanvi-isms” come out across the site – here’s a guide to what they mean. 😊

| Woezɔ | Welcome! |
| Yama-Yama | Beautiful, great, fun, impressive, amazing, surprise. Used to show excitement at good news, a fun proposal, or getting closer and feeling the heat! |
| “Petit à petit, oiseaux fait son nid” | “Little by little, the bird makes its nest,” meaning to be patient. Small steps, over and over, will make a difference. |
| Faites-vous plaisir! | Did you know there are countless different ways to say “enjoy” in French? In translation, this version means “Treat yourself!” |
| Profitez-en! | Another way to say enjoy – this means “take advantage of it!” |
| “A chacun a sa patate” | “To each his own potato”. In other words, to each their own! |
| “Mushroom drop” | Mic drop! When we do something positive, you’ll hear our team cheer this – it’s a celebration! |
